  • Coronavirus (COVID-19)

After discussions we’ve decided to resurrect fromgatetoplate.co.uk.

We’ve had BREXIT and now we’ve got COVID-19 to deal with.  We thought it was time to blow the dust off of the site and hopefully continue to support our local farmer and producers. Where ever in the country you may be.

We are going to ‘re-design’ the site as we move forward, but the function remains the same. We’re not so bothered about suppliers taking out Ads, we’re not interested in the commercials at the moment, we’re more concerned with helping the community at large.

As we’ve literally just shoved the site live there may be some niggles or things that have stopped working, we’ll sort them out in due course, bear with us.

    Stay safe!

  • All Good Things…

Unfortunately, From Gate to Plate will be closing on the 31st January 2019. Whilst the concept of From Gate to Plate has been very well received by everyone who we have spoken to, only a handful had actually signed up and maintained their ‘directory listing’. Also, no one took the opportunity to advertise via the site and hence we never received a penny to support the running costs of the project. So like many dot-com projects, this one didn’t light the fire we expected it to.

    Its been emotional…

  • Out and About

As previously mentioned, we sponsored the Cotswold Show this year. We sponsored the Gloucester Bee Keeping stand as we thought this tied in nicely with our raison d’être. Simon was busy on Saturday, talking to many small holders and suppliers of local produce. Whilst on the Sunday, Paul … well he just took it easy for the day, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Nick Knowles and the Earl and Lady Bathhurst.

Paul relaxes with some local produce.
Its hard work this advertising lark

The show was well attended and the weather on both days was hot, too hot.

  • Camping Facilities

Whilst Paul was sitting in the unexpected sunshine this weekend enjoying a glass of ‘something’ after setting up his caravan near Cheltenham, he opened up From Gate To Plate and found Hayles Fruit Farm not 2.5 miles down the road. Whilst browsing what Hayles had to offer, he noticed they also had campsite facilities. PING! Lightbulb moment. So, following that flash of inspiration we now have categories for those of you that offer camping facilities at your farms. We know its not strictly ‘foodie’ based but we’re here to support the local farms and producers no matter what they sell.
